Helping you to get involved
Whenever we involve you we will:
Providing information
- Make sure all information is clear and jargon free; and
- Provide information in formats suitable to your individual needs and preferences (for example large print, on audio tape, or translated into a community language).
Meetings and events
- Organise events at times and venues you find easy to access;
- Provide suitable refreshments and help with transport for involvement events;
- Help out with costs for childcare
- Publicise meetings in advance and work hard to tell different groups including hard-to reach groups about the meeting/event; and
- Feedback the outcomes of your involvement.
Resources
- Provide financial support to help set up new tenants' and residents' groups and maintain existing groups;
- Provide advice, training and support to groups; and
- Measure the amount of resources spent on involvement to make sure we achieve value for money involvement services.
Tenants and Residents Associations
As part of our formal involvement processes we encourage Tenants and Residents' Associations to follow our voluntary Terms of reference, which asks them to:
- Adopt a standard constitution
- Hold an Annual General Meeting to elect officers;
- Treat people fairly and respect everyone's right to be different;
- Ensure their Committee, general members and any other representatives working with them are strictly non-party political.
