Repairs

There are a number of ways you can report a repair. You can call into one of our Local Housing Offices, phone the repairs hotline on Freephone 0800 694 6900, text 07786 200802 or request a repair using an online form from South Tyneside Council. The Customer Contact Centre is open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturday.

Text message

You can text us with issues affecting you or your home from your mobile phone. You can text up to 160 characters to 07786 200802.

Be as descriptive as possible when sending your message to enable us to respond to your report.

Give a specific location and description which will enable us to attend.

Good example would be: Rubbish dumped in the layby outside St Paul's Church, Jarrow.

Bad Example would be: Rubbish at the back of my house (No location given).

The Council will reply and let you know what action it intends to take.

Typetalk

We welcome calls from customers using Typetalk. Textphone users please prefix our telephone number with ‘18001’.

Induction loop system

Available in all our reception areas. Please ask us if you would like to use it.

Concierge

If you live in a multi storey flat you can contact the concierge 24 hours a day from your home using your intercom.

Scheme Managers

If you live in sheltered accommodation you can use your intercom to contact the Scheme Manager when they are on duty. In an emergency you can contact the Scheme Manager using the Warden Call system which is available 24 hours per day 365 days per year.

Feedback forms

You can send us your feedback online or you can fill in a feedback form at one of our Local Housing Offices. They are a great way for you to let us know how we’re doing or if you have a suggestion for how we can improve the service.

An I+ Point is an interactive kiosk point. You can now contact us and access information about our service using the free and easy to use I+ Points located throughout Tyne and Wear. Simply touch the screen and follow the simple onscreen instructions.
