Tenant Services Authority (TSA)
From April 2010 we will be regulated by the Tenancy Services Authority (TSA).
The TSA was launched on December 1 2008 andaims to make sure that all tenants in social housing receive the same high quality service, no matter who their landlord is.
The TSA will set a number of standards that we have to stick to and they will continuously check whether we meet these standards.
The standards will relate to the following 5 key areas:
1. Tenant Involvement and Empowerment
This standard covers customer service and choice, tenant involvement and empowerment, and complaints. It makes sure that tenants are offered a quality customer service and are treated with respect and courtesy.
2. Homes
Standards relating to the quality of accommodation, repairs and maintenance.
3. Tenancy
Ensuring that all tenants have the choice, protection and security of tenure to which they are legally entitled.
4. Neighbourhoods and Community
Standards relating to neighbourhood management, local area partnerships and anti-social behaviour.
5. Value for Money

Over the next 12 months we are also looking to work closely with you to develop our own local standards, as well as looking at how these will be monitored and evaluated.
As part of this we will be asking you about your own priorities for the future of your homes, local neighbourhoods and the services we offer.
If you would like to get involved in helping us to set our own standards contact our Involvement Team on 0191 4268410 or email involvement@southtynesidehomes.org.uk
