Improvements

You must get our written permission before carrying out any alteration or improvement to your home. Within reasonable limits, we will not normally refuse permission.
If you plan to carry out improvement work you must first fill in our Home Improvement Form or write to your local Housing Office explaining what you want to do and who will be doing it. You should also check whether you need planning permission or building regulations approval.
You may only begin the work once you have the necessary permissions. If your improvements cause damage to your home you must repair it at your own expense. If the improvements are permanent, you must not remove them without our written permission. We can compensate you if you received our written permission. We also recommend that you keep receipts for any improvements you have made.
