Adaptations

We can help disabled people with adaptations to their homes to make them more suited to their needs. This includes help with access to your home, getting around your home, and bathroom and kitchen adaptations.

Your Local Housing Office works closely with Occupational Therapists and building surveyors to identify the right adaptations that will help you stay in your home. You will need to have an assessment by one of our Occupational Therapists. Ask your Local Housing Office for more information.

If you need assistance we may be able to help you with minor adaptations such as fitting hand rails and ramps as well as major adaptations such as fitting a lift and converting rooms.

We can also ask our Council partners to lend you equipment to that will help you with daily tasks and to maintain independence in your home.
