When is my rent due?

Your rent payment is due on Monday each week for the coming week.

You can pay your rent every two weeks or every month as long as you pay in advance.

To see your account balance, go to your rent account.

It's important that everyone pays their rent and that it is paid on time so that we can provide you with the best possible housing services.

If you are a new tenant, you must pay your rent as soon as your tenancy starts, even if you don't move into your home straightaway. If you are waiting for a Housing Benefit claim to be processed you still need to pay your water and sewerage charges. If you are waiting for a Universal Credit payment, you will be advised on the expected payment.

Having problems paying your rent?

If you get behind with paying your rent and cannot pay, we can help by giving you confidential advice and referring you to the Welfare Support Service, who can check that you are receiving the right amount of benefits and help you with any problem debts.

We can also arrange an affordable repayment plan with you, so you can pay us an agreed amount each week until your debt is cleared.

For more information and to discuss your rent account, call the Income team on 0300 123 6633. For more information visit Debt, benefits and money advice.
